Back on the Discworld,
Terry Pratchett's Sourcery is one of
the books of the series that I listen to the least. A sorcerer comes to the University and it is
almost the end of the world ... Once again, it is up to Rincewind, world's
worst wizard, to save the world.
There is a great
quote, though, that I found myself pausing the book and rewinding to get
written down. Rincewind knows he is no
good at being a wizard but he also knows he IS a wizard anyhow. He says:
"Talent just
defines what you do," he said.
"It doesn't define what you are.
Deep down, I mean. When you know
what you are, you can do anything ... the really important thing is to know
what you are."
